The caboose is a cozy, one-bedroom retreat with original railroad character and vintage details throughout. The living area includes a comfortable sitting space, gas fireplace, and kitchen, with sleeping accommodations for up to four guests — a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children. The bedroom is complete with a full size Premium Purple® mattress & Purple® pillows as well as a smart television and high speed wifi. The living room has a futon for extra sleeping space. The Bathhouse The private bathhouse is located just outside the caboose and includes a full bathroom with a deep soaking tub and shower. It is exclusively yours during your stay, but does require stepping outside to access. The Setting The caboose sits along Highway 61 in the Grand Marais lakeshore corridor, with Lake Superior just across the road. You’ll hear the passing vehicles, especially during the day, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the North Shore. The Outdoors A private patio provides space to be outside and enjoy the woods. Lake Superior shoreline access and hiking trails. Galleries, beaches, and downtown Grand Marais are all just 10 min away. A Historic Stay This is a historic railroad car, not a newly built cabin.
